Barrier has focused on a region of proven mineral endowment and has implemented a “mature belt, new ideas” exploration philosophy to Broken Hill, taking the advice of a panel of extensively experienced senior explorers, some with decades of Broken Hill and international experience to guide technical programmes. In a major technical breakthrough the drilling of 5 diamond holes for 1,880 metres at the Thackaringa mineral field has validated the hypothesis that high-grade Thackaringa-Type Ag +/- Zn/Pb/Cu vein systems may be underlain and fed by Broken Hill-Type garnetite lode systems, with BHT lode zones of up to 210 metres thickness being intersected. Panda aims to further develop the Thackaringa Project, along with defining additional drill targets in other priority areas.
